All In: What Complete Allegiance Really Means | Tuesday

 Most of us are comfortable with the idea of loving Jesus. We sing about it, we talk about it, and we genuinely mean it. But Jesus raises the bar in Luke 14 in a way that can feel jarring at first. He says that unless we love Him above everyone and everything else, including family and our own lives, we cannot be His disciple.

He is not saying family does not matter. He is saying that no relationship, no comfort, and no personal agenda can sit on the throne of your heart alongside Him. There is only room for one.

This is what complete allegiance looks like. It is not a feeling you work up on a Sunday morning. It is an ongoing posture of the heart that says, "Jesus, You are first. Everything else finds its place after You."

Here is what makes this possible: Jesus does not ask for your allegiance and then leave you to figure it out alone. Your love for Him is a response to His love for you first. He gave everything for you. Allegiance, then, is not a burden. It is a natural overflow of a heart that has truly encountered grace.

You were not made to be divided. You were made to be fully His, and that is exactly where you will find the life you have been looking for.

Jesus, I want You to be first in every area of my life. Where I have been divided, make me whole. Help me to love You with everything I have. Amen.
