Devotional

Generosity is not a one-time event. It is a practice, a rhythm that gets built into the way you live. And like any rhythm, it takes intentionality to develop.

It is tempting to give only when it feels convenient, when there is a special project you are excited about or when the budget feels comfortable. But that kind of giving is more about preference than obedience. God calls you to something deeper: a consistent, faithful pattern of generosity that reflects a surrendered heart.

Tithing, giving ten percent, is a great starting point. Not because it is a magic formula or a guaranteed path to financial blessing, but because it is a tangible act of trust. It is a way of saying, God, I believe You are who You say You are, and I am going to live like it.

Building this rhythm will not always feel natural at first. There will be months when it is hard. There will be moments when your flesh pushes back and tells you that you need that money more than God does. That is exactly when the rhythm matters most. Obedience in the difficult moments is what shapes character over time.

Start where you are. Take one step toward a more consistent, generous life. God honors faithfulness, and He is more than able to meet you in the middle of your obedience.

Bible Verse

"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much." - Luke 16:10

Reflection Question

What would it look like for you to move from occasional generosity to a consistent rhythm of giving, and what is one practical step you could take this week to begin?

Quote

The Lord does not call you to an amount to give. He calls you to a rhythm and life of obedience.

Prayer

Lord, I want generosity to be a natural part of who I am, not just something I do when it is easy. Help me build a rhythm of obedience that reflects my trust in You. Amen.
