Cracked Jars, Priceless Treasure | Monday

There is something quietly liberating about the idea that God has never been impressed by impressive packaging. He chose a shepherd boy over seasoned warriors. He called fishermen instead of scholars. He arrived in a manger, not a palace. The pattern is hard to miss. God consistently bypasses what the world calls qualified and chooses what the world calls ordinary.

Paul wrote to the church in Corinth about this very tension. We carry something extraordinary inside of us, but the container is common clay. Fragile. Cracked. Unremarkable on the outside. And here is the stunning part: that was intentional. God placed His greatest treasure, Christ Himself, inside ordinary, imperfect people on purpose.

This means your limitations are not disqualifying. They are actually part of the design. When something beautiful comes out of a cracked jar, nobody applauds the jar. They ask about what is inside. That is exactly the point.

You do not need to have it all together to be used by God. You just need to be willing. The pressure to appear polished, capable, and spiritually impressive is real, but it is not from Him. He has never needed a perfect vessel. He has always needed an available one.

Today, take a breath and release the pressure to perform. You are a jar of clay, and that is enough. Because what is inside you is everything.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for choosing ordinary people to carry Your extraordinary treasure. Help me stop striving to impress and simply trust that You are enough to shine through my cracks. Amen.
