Devotional

The woman in Luke 15 does not find the coin and then take a break halfway through the search. She keeps going until the coin is in her hand. The job is not done until the lost thing is found. That is the whole point.

It is easy to let comfort quietly replace conviction. Life gets busy. Sharing your faith feels awkward. You tell yourself that someone else will do it, or that you have already done your part. But Jesus tells this story to make something clear: the search does not end early.

Here is what makes that challenging and beautiful at the same time. You are reading this today because someone did not stop. Someone prayed for you, invited you, spoke truth to you, or simply refused to give up on you. Their persistence was a gift you may not have even recognized at the time.

That same persistence is now yours to carry forward. Not out of guilt, but out of gratitude. Not because you have to, but because you know what it feels like to be found.

The church is not finished with its mission as long as there are people who have not yet heard. That is not a burden. It is an invitation to be part of something that matters eternally.

Bible Verse

"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." - Ephesians 5:8

Reflection Question

Has comfort or convenience quietly caused you to pull back from pursuing someone who needs to hear about Jesus?

Quote

We must persist faithfully. The job is not done until the lost coin is found. If there is one lost person in the world, the church is not done.

Prayer

Father, keep my heart from settling into comfort when You have called me to persist. Remind me of the joy of being found, and let that fuel me to keep searching. Amen.
