Grace That Holds You to the End | Thursday

Devotional
There is a version of the Christian life that sounds exhausting. Grit your teeth, try harder, do more, and hope it is enough. That is not what Jesus is describing in Luke 14, and it is not what the rest of Scripture teaches either.
Consistent perseverance, the third mark of a true disciple, is not about white-knuckling your way through life. It is about leaning fully on the grace of God that saved you, sustains you, and will carry you all the way to the finish line. You are saved by grace. You are being saved by grace. And you will be saved by grace in the future.
This is the kind of faith that does not quit, not because you are strong enough, but because He is. The same grace that brought you in is the grace that keeps you going. That is not a small thing. That is everything.
When life gets hard, and it will, the answer is not to try harder. The answer is to trust Him more deeply. To return to the grace that first found you and let it carry you forward.
You do not have to earn your way through the Christian life. You get to walk it in the strength of the One who already paid for it. That is a reason to keep going, even on the hardest days.
Bible Verse
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God." - Ephesians 2:8
Reflection Question
In what area of your life are you trying to push through on your own strength instead of relying on God's grace?
Quote
You are saved by grace. You are being saved by grace, and you will be saved by grace in the future.
Prayer
Lord, thank You that Your grace is not just how I started this journey but how I continue it. Teach me to trust You more and strive in my own strength less. Amen.
