Devotional

There's something deeply personal about the parable of the lost sheep. The shepherd doesn't shrug and say, "Well, I still have 99." He notices the one that's missing. He goes after it. He searches until he finds it.

That's not the behavior of someone managing a flock. That's the behavior of someone who genuinely loves each one.

Jesus said it clearly in John 10:14-15: "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father, and I lay down my life for the sheep." - John 10:14-15

God is not distant. He is not indifferent. He knows your name, your fears, your failures, and the exact weight of what you carried into today. You are not just a face in the crowd to Him. You are someone He personally loves and someone Jesus gave His life for.

On the days when you feel invisible or forgotten, come back to this truth. The Shepherd sees you. He came looking for you before you ever thought to look for Him. That kind of love is not something you earn. It's something you receive.

Let that sink in today. You are known. You are loved. And you are worth going after.

Reflection Question

Do you truly believe that God knows you personally and loves you individually, or does He sometimes feel distant and impersonal to you? What might be shaping that perception?

He's a good, good Father who knows your name. He knows what you're struggling with this morning. He knows what pain and heartache and anxiety you brought into this room today. He knows your fears. He's familiar with your uncertainties. He celebrates with you in your victories. He walks with you and stoops down with you in your failures.

Prayer

Father, thank You for knowing me by name and loving me personally. Help me to receive that love fully today, especially in the places where I feel unseen or forgotten.
