Heaven Is Celebrating. Are You? | Wednesday

When someone comes to faith in Jesus, heaven throws a party. That is not a metaphor. Jesus says plainly in Luke 15 that there is more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine who have no need of repentance. The angels are not politely nodding. They are rejoicing.

But here is the uncomfortable question: do we rejoice with them?

The Pharisees in Luke 15 could not celebrate because they believed their righteousness was something they had earned. When you think you deserve your place, it is hard to be genuinely glad when someone else receives the same grace for free. That is not joy. That is pride wearing a religious mask.

But when you truly understand that your own place at the table was a gift, that you were just as lost before Jesus found you, celebrating someone else's rescue becomes the most natural thing in the world. You know what it felt like to be carried home. You know the weight that was lifted.

Heaven rejoices at every repentant heart because that person's future glory is already sealed and certain. Their story does not end at rescue. It ends in the presence of God forever. That is worth celebrating with everything you have.

Let heaven's joy become your joy. Let the grace that saved you make you the loudest person in the room when someone else is found.

When someone around you experiences God's grace or takes a step toward faith, what is your honest, gut-level reaction, and what does that reveal about how you see your own rescue?

Jesus, give me a heart that genuinely celebrates when others are found by Your grace. Root out any pride that keeps me from rejoicing the way heaven does. Amen.
