Devotional

When the woman finally finds her coin, she throws a party. She calls her friends and neighbors and says, come celebrate with me. There is something contagious about that kind of joy. It does not stay contained. It spills over into community.

That is a picture of what the church looks like when it is operating from a shared value system, when everyone is oriented around the same thing. When Jesus is truly the priority, the distractions and disagreements that so often divide people simply lose their grip.

But here is the honest question: is Jesus actually your priority, or is He one of many things competing for the top spot? Jesus made it clear that there is really only room for one governing principle in a life. Seek first the kingdom of God. Not second. Not when it is convenient. First.

Priority is not just a word. It is a daily decision. It shows up in how you spend your mornings, your money, your attention, and your energy. When Jesus is genuinely first, everything else finds its proper place.

You were made for this. A life built around Christ is not a smaller life. It is a fuller one. The joy the woman felt when she found that coin is a glimpse of the joy available to anyone who makes Jesus the center of everything.

Bible Verse

"You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand." - Psalm 16:11

Reflection Question

What is one area of your life where something other than Jesus has quietly taken the top spot, and what would it look like to surrender that to Him today?

Quote

When we have a shared value system that we want to do whatever it takes to connect people to Jesus and His church, all the other nonsense just goes away.

Prayer

Jesus, You are worth more than anything I could place above You. Help me to seek Your kingdom first, every day, and trust that You will take care of the rest. Amen.
