Possessing Faith, Not Just Professing It | Friday

There is a difference between saying you believe something and actually living like it is true. You can profess faith in Jesus, use the right words, show up in the right places, and still be holding back the one thing He is actually asking for: your whole heart.

Jesus closes His teaching in Luke 14 with an image of salt that has lost its flavor. Salt does not lose its flavor on its own. It happens when impurities are mixed in. A divided life, one that professes Christ without truly possessing faith in Him, produces exactly that: a diluted, ineffective faith that impacts no one, including yourself.

Possessing faith means you are actually in the game. It means your love for Christ shapes how you spend your time, your money, your relationships, and your energy. It means you are not just hoping for the best in eternity while living for yourself today.

Here is the beautiful truth: this kind of faith is not something you manufacture. It is something Christ builds in you as you surrender to Him. Every breath you have is an opportunity to live for His glory and participate in something far bigger than yourself.

You were made for this. Not the stands. The field. Step in, stay in, and trust that He who called you is faithful to complete what He started in you.
