Settle Your Loyalty Once and for All | Friday

Devotional
At some point, you have to make a decision. Not a vague, general decision to be a good person or to try harder. A real, specific, settled decision about who is in charge of your life.
Jesus did not leave room for a middle ground. You cannot serve both God and money. Trying to split your loyalty does not produce balance. It produces division, and a divided heart is an exhausted heart. You end up serving neither well and finding peace in nothing.
This is the invitation of the gospel applied to everyday life. Just as you trusted God with your soul for eternity, you can trust Him with your finances, your future, and your daily decisions. That trust is not passive. It is an active, daily choice to put Him first.
In Joshua 24, Joshua stood before the people and made it plain: choose this day whom you will serve. That same call echoes today. Not just in the big moments, but in the ordinary ones. In how you spend your Saturday. In what you do with your paycheck. In whether you give even when it is inconvenient.
You do not have to have it all figured out. You just have to plant a stake in the ground and say, Jesus, I am with You. From that place of settled loyalty, everything else begins to align. Your generosity, your peace, and your purpose all flow from a heart that has chosen well.
Bible Verse
"But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve... But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." - Joshua 24:15
Reflection Question
Is there an area of your finances or daily life where you have been trying to serve two masters, and what would it look like to fully surrender that area to God today?
Quote
Settle your loyalty once and for all. Jesus, I'm putting a stake in the ground. Like, I want my heart to follow you.
Prayer
Jesus, I am putting a stake in the ground today. I choose You above comfort, above money, and above my own plans. Help me live with a loyalty that is settled and a heart that follows You fully. Amen.
