Devotional

Faith that's never tested isn't really faith—it's just theory. Jesus promises that our allegiance to Him will be tested, often in moments of suffering, social pressure, or persecution. These tests reveal whether our faith is genuine or merely convenient. Like a building's foundation that's only proven during storms, our spiritual foundation is revealed during trials. The good news is that we don't have to fear these tests when our allegiance is rooted in Christ's finished work, not our perfect performance. Our security doesn't depend on passing every test flawlessly—it depends on trusting in the One who already passed the ultimate test for us. When trials come, they're opportunities to discover that Christ's strength is sufficient and His grace is enough. A life lived with nothing to hide before God can withstand any test because it's built on the solid foundation of His unchanging love and faithfulness.

Bible Verse

'And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.' - Romans 8

Reflection Question

How can you prepare your heart now for future tests of your faith?

Quote

Your allegiance to Christ will be tested. It's gonna be tested in the moments of suffering.

Prayer

Father, strengthen my allegiance to You so that when tests come, my faith will stand firm. Help me trust in Your faithfulness rather than my own strength.
