Devotional

A tiny amount of yeast can transform an entire loaf of bread. Similarly, small compromises in our spiritual lives can have massive consequences. We often think we can manage a little dishonesty here, a small moral compromise there, or just a bit of deception in certain relationships. But hypocrisy works like leaven—it spreads and corrupts everything it touches. What starts as a small white lie can grow into a web of deception. A minor compromise in integrity can lead to major character failures. The enemy doesn't need us to make huge moral failures; he's content with small, seemingly insignificant compromises that gradually erode our spiritual foundation. God calls us to vigilance against even the smallest forms of hypocrisy because He knows how destructive they can become. Integrity isn't built in big moments—it's forged in the small, daily choices to align our private reality with our public faith.

Bible Verse

'The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.' - Proverbs 9:10

Reflection Question

Listen, a little bit will absolutely ruin your life. That's the word here. He's not saying, hey, a little bit goes a long way. So a little dab will do you. No, he's saying, listen, don't even flirt with hypocrisy

Quote

We have the key to life and knowledge. Instead of giving it and extending it to people, we are hindering people. When we make up our own rules, we must be cautious to not do it.

Prayer

Father, help me recognize and eliminate even small compromises in my life. Give me wisdom to see how seemingly minor choices can have major consequences.
