The Power of His Word | Wednesday

Devotional In the town of Nain, Jesus confronted humanity's ultimate enemy: death. Standing before a coffin, He did something remarkable. He spoke. "Young man, I say to you, arise." Simple words, yet with authority that death itself could not resist. This wasn't a lengthy incantation or elaborate ritual. It was just words—but words spoken by the One who created all things by His word. The same voice that called light from darkness in Genesis now called life from death in Nain. And death had no choice but to obey. We often underestimate the power of Jesus' words. We read them in Scripture, perhaps even memorize them, but do we truly grasp their authority? Every promise, every command, every word that proceeds from His mouth carries the same power that raised that young man from his coffin. When Jesus speaks into your circumstances—your fears, your doubts, your seemingly impossible situations—His words aren't mere encouragement. They're declarations with the power to transform reality. The question isn't whether His word has power, but whether we're positioning ourselves to hear it and believe it. Today, consider what Jesus is speaking over your life. His words sustain the universe, calm storms, cast out demons, and yes, even raise the dead. Nothing—absolutely nothing—can resist the power of His spoken word.Bible Verse "The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven." - Hebrews 1:3Reflection Question What situation in your life seems beyond hope, and how would it change if you truly believed that Jesus' words have the power to transform even that circumstance?Quote When Jesus speaks, things happen. When Jesus speaks, even death has to listen. When Jesus speaks, Satan has no power. He has no control.

Prayer Lord Jesus, I stand in awe of the power of Your word. You speak, and even death must obey. Help me to trust the authority of Your promises over my life. When circumstances seem impossible, remind me that nothing is impossible for You. May I listen for Your voice above all others and respond with faithful obedience. Amen.
