The Shepherd Who Comes After You | Monday

Have you ever felt like you were too far gone? Too broken, too ashamed, too lost for anyone to bother coming after you? That feeling is more common than most of us admit. But here is the truth that changes everything: Jesus does not wait for you to find your way back. He comes after you.

In Luke 15, Jesus tells the story of a shepherd who leaves ninety-nine sheep to search for just one that is lost. That is not efficient. That is not practical. But that is exactly the kind of love God has for you. He is not indifferent to your wandering. He is actively, relentlessly pursuing you.

And when He finds you? He does not point you in the right direction and wish you well. He puts you on His shoulders and carries you home. That image is not accidental. It is a picture of the cross, where Jesus bore the full weight of your sin, your shame, and your failure so that you would never have to carry it alone.

You are not a burden to Him. You are the reason He came. No matter where you are today, no matter what you have done or left undone, His pursuit of you has not stopped. He is still the Good Shepherd, and He is still looking for the one.

Lord, thank You for being a Shepherd who pursues and carries rather than waits and watches. Help me to stop striving and start trusting that Your arms are strong enough to bring me home. Amen.
