You Are a Steward, Not an Owner | Monday

Devotional

Here is a thought that can change everything: nothing you have is actually yours. Your bank account, your home, your time, even your talents. All of it belongs to God. You are simply managing what He has placed in your hands.

This is not meant to be discouraging. It is actually incredibly freeing. When you stop seeing yourself as the owner of your life and start seeing yourself as a steward, the pressure shifts. You are no longer responsible for building your own kingdom. You are responsible for being faithful with what the King has already given you.

In Luke 16, Jesus tells a story about a manager who was about to lose everything. Facing a crisis, he acted quickly and shrewdly to secure his future. Jesus praised his forward thinking, not His methods. The point is clear: are you thinking ahead? Not just about next month or next year, but about eternity?

God has entrusted you with real resources and real opportunities. Every day is a chance to use them in a way that matters beyond this life. You do not have to have a lot. You just have to be faithful with what you have been given.

Start today by simply acknowledging that what you hold, God owns. That single shift in perspective can transform the way you live.

Bible Verse

"No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." - Luke 16:13

Reflection Question

If someone looked at how you spent your time and money this past week, what would they conclude about who you believe the real owner of your life is?

Quote

Everything you have belongs to the Master. Everything I have belongs to the Master. It has been entrusted. We are simply stewards of everything that God has entrusted to us.

Prayer

Lord, help me to see everything I have as a gift from You and not as something I earned or deserve. Teach me to hold it all with open hands, trusting You as the true owner of my life. Amen.
