You Are on the Rescue Team | Friday

Here is a simple but clarifying truth: there are only two kinds of people in the world. Those who need to be rescued, and those who are on the rescue team. And if you have been rescued by Jesus, you are now on the team.

That is not a guilt trip. It is an invitation. Because the same relentless love that pursued you is now the love you get to carry to others. As Jesus pursued you, you pursue others. That is the rhythm of the gospel.

But if we are honest, most of us struggle with this. We know we should share our faith. We know people around us are lost. Yet somehow, weeks and months pass and we stay quiet. Often, the reason is simple: we forget what it felt like to be lost. We forget the weight that was lifted when Jesus found us. When the memory of rescue fades, the urgency to rescue others fades with it.

So let today be a reminder. You were the one sheep. You were the one who was carried home on His shoulders. That is not ancient history. That is your story, and it is the most powerful thing you have to offer someone who is still wandering.

Go after the one. Pray for the one. Invite the one. You are a church, and together you can do anything it takes for just one more person to know Him.
