You Were Not Made to Wander Alone | Thursday

Devotional
From the very beginning, isolation has never been part of God's design. In Genesis 4, when Cain walked away from God and from community, it was the first visible sign that something had gone deeply wrong. Isolation and sin have always traveled together.
The lost sheep in Luke 15 did not end up in danger because it was rebellious. It simply wandered. Little by little, it drifted from the flock until it was completely alone and completely vulnerable. That is how isolation works in our own lives too. It rarely happens all at once. It happens gradually, quietly, until one day we look up and realize we are far from where we were meant to be.
God designed us for community. Not just for friendship or social connection, but for genuine accountability with other believers who know us, love us, and will come after us when we start to drift. That is what the church is for. It is not a building or a program. It is a people who are committed to one another, who take seriously the call to be their brother's keeper.
If you have been pulling back from community lately, pay attention to that. It may be the earliest warning sign that something needs to be addressed. You were not made to wander alone, and you do not have to.
Bible Verse
"So Jesus said to them again, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.'" - John 10:11
Reflection Question
Is there an area of your life where you have been quietly pulling back from community or accountability, and what might that isolation be protecting you from facing?
Quote
Isolation is never good.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for placing me in a community of believers. Give me the humility to stay connected, to be known, and to let others speak into my life when I start to drift. Amen.
