Devotional

Pain has a way of making us feel like we are falling behind. Like everyone else has a clean, inspiring story while ours is still too messy to share. So we tuck it away. We polish the surface. We show up and smile and hope nobody asks too many questions.

But God does not waste pain. Every hard season you have walked through, every moment you thought would break you, every chapter you are still embarrassed by, He has been working in all of it. And the comfort He carried you through is not just for you. It is meant to reach someone who is still in the middle of what you have already survived.

Paul wrote about this with remarkable honesty. The God of all comfort comforts us in our troubles so that we can comfort others with the same comfort we ourselves have received. Your story is not a liability. It is a lifeline for someone else.

Pretending to have it all together does not inspire people. It isolates them. But when someone who has been broken speaks honestly about how they found hope, that changes things. People are not moved by polished success. They are moved by real redemption.

You do not need a perfect story. You need an honest one. Whatever you have been through, God can use it. He already has been. Now it is time to let someone else hear it.

Is there a painful part of your story you have been hiding that someone else might desperately need to hear?

God never, ever wastes pain. Our suffering is never meaningless in his hands. And that is why you need to tell your story, whatever your story is.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for never wasting my pain. Give me the courage to share my story honestly, trusting that You can use my broken places to bring hope to someone else. Amen.
