There is a beautiful promise tucked into Isaiah 46. God says to His people: I have carried you from birth. I have held you since you were born. And even to your old age, I will carry you still.

That is not the promise of a distant, indifferent God. That is the promise of a Father who is personally, actively, and tenderly involved in the lives of His children.

Everything God does, He does for His glory and for the good of those who belong to Him. The trials He allows, the seasons of waiting, the moments of uncertainty, none of it is wasted. All of it is working toward something. Romans 8:29 tells us that something is being conformed to the image of Jesus Christ. God's purpose for you is that you become like His Son.

That is the goal. Not a better bank account. Not a trouble-free life. But a life that increasingly reflects the character of Jesus. And here is the encouraging part: God is the one doing the work. You are not carrying yourself through this. He is carrying you.

Every day, even the hard ones, is a blessed day because the Holy Spirit is at work inside you, transforming you from the inside out. You are not alone. You are not forgotten. You are being carried by the God who has never once dropped one of His own.

Trust Him. He has you.

'Listen to me, O house of Jacob, all the remnant of the house of Israel, who have been borne by me from before your birth, carried from the womb; even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.' - Isaiah 46:3-4

Reflection Question

What would it look like practically for you to stop striving to carry yourself through life and instead rest in the truth that God is carrying you?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for carrying me through every season of my life. Help me to rest in Your arms today, trusting that Your plan for me is good, and that You will carry me all the way home. Amen.
